Match Preview for Liverpool v Tottenham
Anfield is braced for a title party on Sunday with Liverpool set to be crowned champions for a record-equalling 20th time.
It is a matter of when, not if, the Reds are confirmed as the best team in England with Arsenal’s draw against Crystal Palace in midweek meaning Arne Slot’s men need just a point at home to Tottenham to get over the line.
That’s not to say Slot is expecting a straightforward afternoon against the Londoners.
The Dutchman, who is set to join an elite club of managers to have won the Premier League at the first attempt, said: “I know how hard it was to win against a team [Leicester City] that was close to relegation. It was hard to get the win over the line. I am not getting carried away at all.
“We’ve faced Tottenham already three times, I know how hard it is to beat them for us. That is where my main focus is on.”
Liverpool have a mixed record against Spurs this season, enjoying two emphatic wins – 6-3 and 4-0, but also suffering a 1-0 defeat in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final.

And Slot is not expecting anything different from Ange Postecoglou’s men.
He added: “At the end of the season, every team has played a lot of games and it will be weird to change the way they play completely. During the season, it can happen more.
“Tottenham know how we play and we know how they play. But you can always adjust some details. But the big picture is clear for Ange Postecoglou and me on what to expect.”
The trip to Merseyside kicks-off a big week for Spurs and their under-pressure manager.
They take on Bodo/Glimt in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final on Thursday night before a London derby with West Ham next weekend.
Team News for Liverpool v Tottenham
Trent Alexander-Arnold could return at right-back after his match-winning contribution off the bench against Leicester.
Apart from Joe Gomez, Slot has a full-strength squad to choose from.
The picture is a little less clear for Spurs, with Postecoglou unlikely to risk anyone not 100 per cent ahead of their big European game.
Radu Dragusin is definitely out while captain Son Heung-min is unavailable due to a foot injury.
Destiny Udogie and James Madison are fit after missing Monday’s home defeat to Nottingham Forest.
