Montpellier v PSG match preview
Paris Saint-Germain face the relative inconvenience of a return to Ligue 1 action on Saturday, visiting a rock-bottom Montpellier side who are certain to finish bottom of the table.
The French champions reached the Champions League final for the first time since 2019/20 on Wednesday, easing past Arsenal 2-1 at home to complete a 3-1 aggregate win.
PSG have precious little left to play for in the league, although they had been on course to become the first team in French top-flight history to go a season unbeaten before their surprise home defeat to Nice on April 25.
Their next meaningful fixture comes against Reims in the French Cup final on May 24 (20:00 BST), a week before they face Inter in their European decider in Munich (20:00).

Montpellier beat PSG to the title in 2011/12 but are about to become a second-tier team for the first time since 2008/09 after one of the worst seasons in their history.
Zoumana Camara, who was a Ligue 1 champion three times with PSG during a spell at the club lasting from 2007 until 2015, became La Paillade’s third manager of the season on April 8.
The former centre-back ended a 12-match losing run with a 0-0 draw against Reims in Montpellier’s last home game on April 27 before they lost 1-0 at Brest last Sunday.
Only third-bottom Le Havre have a worse home record than Montpellier, who are 11 points adrift of second-bottom St Etienne.

Montpellier v Paris Saint-Germain team news
Montpellier’s plight has not been helped by a considerable list of absentees including defenders Christopher Jullien, Nikola Maksimovic and Issiaga Sylla.
Winger Axel Gueguin, midfielder Nicolas Pays and forwards Yanis Issoufou and Othmane Maamma are also out, with centre-half Modibo Sagnan and striker Andy Delort doubts.
PSG are resting goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, defenders Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes and Willian Pacho and midfielders Fabian Ruiz and Vitinha until Wednesday.
That is likely to mean a much-changed starting line-up, with possible opportunities from the off or the bench for teenage prospects Axel Tape, Yoram Zague, Noham Kamara, Ibrahim Mbaye, Quentin Ndjantou and Wassim Slama.

Montpellier v PSGΒ prediction
PSG have a near-flawless record against Montpellier, scoring six in each of the sides’ last two meetings β and they should return to winning ways in Ligue 1 with a 2-0 win here.
Luis Enrique’s team are, however, far less predictable than they were in terms of league performances right now. Since winning the title against Angers on April 5 and beating Le Havre in their subsequent match, PSG have drawn at Nantes and lost to Nice and Strasbourg.
