Preview for Inter Milan v Barcelona
Barcelona kick off a season-defining week in Italy tomorrow, looking to secure a place in the Champions League final.
Hansi Flick’s side take on Inter Milan in the second leg of their last-four clash at San Siro hoping to improve on last week’s pulsating 3-3 draw in Catalonia.
Inter led 2-0 and 3-2 before Barca secured a draw thanks to Raphinha’s brilliant strike that went in via the back of goalkeeper Yann Sommer.
After facing the Nerazzurri, Barca return home to host Real Madrid in a Clasico clash that could determine the outcome of this season’s La Liga title race. Both sides won at the weekend, meaning Barca retained their four-point cushion at the summit.
Ideally, Flick would rest some of his key players ahead of that game but there is no room for rotation this week and the visitors will go full throttle in Milan as they look to take another step towards a domestic and continental treble.
Inter were superb at the Estadi Olympic Lluis Companys last Wednesday despite a recent blip in their league form.
The weekend win over Verona was their first in three Serie A contests while they also suffered a chastening defeat to AC Milan in the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia.
Simone Inzaghi’s side are still right in the mix for the Scudetto, though, as they trail leaders Napoli by three points with three games remaining.

Team News for Inter Milan v Barcelona
Inter’s main worry surrounds star striker and captain Lautaro Martinez.
The Argentina international came off at half-time in the first leg due to a thigh problem and missed the weekend win over Verona. The 27-year-old, who has scored 21 goals and added six assists for Inter across all competitions this campaign, is set to play, according to reports in Italy.
Barcelona have included fit-again striker Robert Lewandowski in the party to travel to Italy.
The Poland international has been out for a fortnight after injuring a thigh muscle in the 4-3 defeat of Celta Vigo on April 19. It’s unlikely he will start the game at San Siro, though, with Ferran Torres, who was rested against Valladolid at the weekend, likely to occupy the number nine role.
Alejandro Balde, Jules Koundé, Marc Bernal, Marc Casadó and Pablo Torre are all injured while Wojciech Szczesny will continue in goal with Marc-Andre Ter Steven not registered.

Prediction for Inter Milan v Barcelona
A lot will depend on which Inter turns up. The side that has dominated Italian football over recent seasons and the one that performed so well last week? Or the team devoid of ideas that couldn’t conjure up a goal against Bologna, Milan or Roma?
It is most likely to be the former, especially with a loud and passionate San Siro in full voice.
And we feel that will give the hosts a vital edge and may prove too much for Barca.
Prediction: Inter Milan 2-1 Barcelona
