Match preview for PSG v Inter

The curtain comes down on the European season in Munich on Saturday when Paris Saint-Germain face Inter Milan in the Champions League final.

For PSG, this is an opportunity to finally clinch their first-ever European crown after years of near misses.

Inter, meanwhile, are seeking to lift the trophy for a fourth time, after missing out in their last final appearance, against Manchester City.

PSG and Inter have reached this stage via very different routes. Luis Enrique’s side have dazzled with their expansive, free-flowing football, while Inter’s tactical discipline has seen them overcome Bayern Munich and Barcelona in the knockout rounds.

There’s even more at stake for PSG: they’re on the brink of a historic treble, having already secured Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France. Victory in Munich would mark a perfect season—one their Qatari owners have waited over 14 years to achieve.

Inter, for their part, are desperate to salvage a campaign that saw them fall short in Serie A and the Coppa Italia. After coming so close to a treble themselves, the Champions League represents a final shot at redemption.

PSG’s journey hasn’t always been smooth. Back in November, they were in danger of missing the knockout stage entirely, with Enrique’s job under threat. But a remarkable turnaround in 2025 has made them the standout team in Europe.

The Parisians overcame Liverpool at Anfield and Arsenal at the Emirates, also showing grit to see off Aston Villa in the quarter-finals.

Now they’re aiming to become the first French club to win the Champions League since Marseille in 1993.

For Inter, Saturday offers a chance to banish the memories of recent near misses, most notably their defeat to Manchester City in the 2023 final in Istanbul.

Inter’s progress hasn’t been as smooth as PSG’s, but they’ve shown remarkable control in Europe, taking the lead in 11 of their 14 Champions League games this season and trailing for just seven minutes in total.

Team news for PSG v Inter

Remarkably, both squads are at full strength for the final. PSG will be missing only the sidelined Presnel Kimpembe, while Ousmane Dembele is set to return to the starting XI after featuring as a substitute in the semi-final second leg against Arsenal.

For Inter, Benjamin Pavard and Piotr Zielinski have recovered from knocks and will be available. Lautaro Martinez, rested since the semi-finals, is fit and ready to lead the line.

Expected line-ups for PSG v Inter

Paris Saint-Germain: Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Nuno Mendes; Joao Neves, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz; Doue, Dembele, Kvaratskhelia

Inter Milan: Sommer; Bisseck, Acerbi, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Thuram, Martinez
