Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski has, on Friday evening, secured for himself an individual accolade.

The prize in question? La Liga’s Player of the Month.

Hitman Lewandowski, of course, has enjoyed a stellar start to life in Catalunya, since opting to swap Bayern for Barca during the summer.

Many, in turn, felt as though the Pole was hard done by in missing out on the award for the Spanish top-flight’s best individual performer across the month of September.

‘Lewy’ himself, however, opted against focusing on what might have been, instead turning his attentions towards lighting up La Liga once more in October.

All told, the veteran striker went on to notch five goals and two assists in six appearances over the course of the month.

It should therefore not come as a huge surprise to hear of Lewandowski, this evening, seeing his efforts on this occasion justly rewarded by the powers that be in Spain.

As per an official announcement across La Liga’s online platforms, Barca’s prolific attacker has been named Player of the Month for October.

Lewandowski beat out competition from the likes of Federico Valverde and Antoine Griezmann to take home the prize.
