Yet another twist in the ongoing saga surrounding Shakhtar Donetsk star has been confirmed late on Saturday evening.
The name of wide-man Mudryk has of course taken its place centre stage in the European football headlines over the course of the last 48 hours.
This came amid the widespread understanding that the gifted young attacker’s departure from his home country of Ukraine, after months of rampant speculation, was finally on the verge of coming to fruition.
Arsenal, the long-standing front-runners for his signature, tabled a fresh bid for Mudryk on Thursday night, which was widely expected to coax the powers that be at Shakhtar into a sale.

As alluded to above, though, late this evening, a direct rival have moved to throw a considerable spanner in the works of the Gunners brass.
The outfit in question? Chelsea.
The Blues, it is understood, are pushing to clinch an immediate verbal agreement with their Shakhtar counterparts, ahead of tabling an official offer worth close to €100 million.
It now remains to be seen whether the will of the player proves decisive, with Mudryk having long made clear his desire to link up with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
