Inter agree deal to sign fourth player from the Premier League

Inter Milan have reportedly agreed a deal to sign midfielder Curtis Jones from Liverpool.

Transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano reported that the two teams have reached a verbal agreement on a €35million (£29.9m) package.

Jones will next undergo a medical with the Serie A champions, who are poised to make him their fourth signing from the Premier League this summer.

Inter have already brought in John Stones as a free agent following the end of his spell with Manchester City, while also bringing in his City team-mate Manuel Akanji. In addition, they signed Stones’ fellow England international Djed Spence from Tottenham.

Jones is set to bolster the Nerazzurri midfield after making 228 appearances for the Reds, scoring 22 goals.

Having graduated from the Liverpool academy, Jones won seven trophies with his boyhood club, including two Premier League titles, two EFL Cups, the FA Cup and the Club World Cup.

Inter begin their defence of the Scudetto on Saturday when they welcome Monza to San Siro. It remains to be seen if Jones’ signing will go through in time for him to be involved in that game.
