Milan vs Manchester United live: Harry Maguire goal opens scoring

Harry Maguire headed in Bruno Fernandes’ corner to give Manchester United a second-minute lead against Milan in Wroclaw on Saturday.

Centre-back Maguire, who was left out of England’s World Cup 2026 squad this summer, powered in to give Michael Carrick’s side a flying start in their final warm-up game for the 2026/27 season.

United start their competitive campaign away to Hull City in the Premier League on August 22 (12:30 BST).

Milan vs Man United: Bruno Fernandes on form

Portugal playmaker Bruno Fernandes broke the Premier League assist record for a single season by setting up 21 goals in 2026/27.

United’s restored captain continued where he left off with the delivery for Maguire, although Red Devils fans might recognise the generous defending that allowed the 33-year-old ample space.

The Rossoneri are managed by Carrick’s predecessor, Ruben Amorim, who left Old Trafford in January after 14 months in charge.

Appointed as Massimiliano Allegri’s successor in June, Amorim has taken over a team who qualified for the Europa League by finishing fifth in Italy’s Serie A last season.

Luka Modric, Christian Comotto, Rafael Leao and Francesco Camarda made way, with goalkeeper Mike Maignan yet to resume training.

Winger Christopher Nkunku did not feature after being told he can leave Stadio San Siro.
