There are a number of major teams in pre-season action this weekend.
Liverpool open their build-up to the 2026/27 season in the United States while Manchester United are in action tonight as part of their tour of Northern Europe.
Here, we take a look at the games and how you can watch them on TV and online.
FRIDAY
Rosenborg v Manchester United (5pm)
United move from Finland to Norway to face Rosenborg in Trondheim this afternoon.
Michael Carrick’s men lost their opening pre-season game, 1-0 against Championship side Wrexham on Saturday, Sam Smith scoring the only goal for the Welsh club in front of an enthusiastic crowd at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki.
Carrick fielded an experienced XI in the first half with Leny Yoro, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, Bryan Mbuemo, Joshua Zirkee, as well as new signing Andrey Santos, all involved.
A similar team should get more minutes against Rosenborg with the club’s World Cup participants still on holiday.
Tonight’s game will also see United’s new blue away kit used for the first time.

SATURDAY
Celtic v AC Milan (3pm)
Celtic, fresh from their dramatic Scottish Premiership title triumph last season, welcome AC Milan to Parkhead for a glamour friendly.
It provides another opportunity for new signing Camilo Duran to impress after pre-season goals against Sporting CP and Middlesbrough. It is unlikely fan favourite Daizen Maeda will be involved as he closes in on a move to Ipswich.
The game sees new Milan boss Ruben Amorim make a swift return to the UK after his largely disappointing spell at Manchester United.

Liverpool v Sunderland (11pm)
The Merseysiders start their pre-season campaign in Nashville with a game against Sunderland.
Andoni Iraola is still getting his feet under the table as Liverpool boss and a trip to the United States will help him get to know his players better.
The clash with the Wearsiders is the first of a three-game slate in the US that also features games against Wrexham and Leeds.
New signing Jeremy Jacquet could feature alongside first-team regulars Dominik Szoboszlai, Joe Gomez and Curtis Jones but the first wave of players to return from the World Cup aren’t expected to arrive until next week.
Sunderland have taken a young squad with the likes of Granit Xhaka and Brian Brobbey still away.

SUNDAY
Auckland FC v Tottenham (4am)
Spurs open their tour of New Zealand and Australia with a game against A-League champions Auckland FC at Eden Park in the early hours of Sunday morning UK time.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side edged out the MK Dons in midweek thanks to a wonderful goal from Mateus Fernandes and the new signing will likely play a part here alongside fellow new boy Sandro Tonali. Jan Paul van Hecke and Andy Robertson also boarded the plane for a trip that includes games against Sydney FC and Chelsea.
