Arsenal score two more corner goals to take control of tricky trip to Leeds

Premier League leaders Arsenal have raced into a two-goal lead at Leeds, thanks to more set-piece magic.

The Gunners lost talisman Bukayo Saka to a muscle injury during the warm-up at Elland Road, but substitute Noni Madueke has stepped up to fill his England team-mate’s boots.

He set up both of the visitors’ goals, with inswinging corners causing chaos inside the penalty area.

The first strike, which came after 27 minutes, was scrambled over the line by Martin Zubimendi after a tussle in the box.

The second, which arrived 10 minutes later, was caused by calamitous defending by Leeds.

Another inswinging corner from Madueke was heading straight into the net, with goalkeeper Karl Darlow failing to deal with the danger.

He punched the ball off his own man before watching it fall into the back of the net, to double Arsenal’s advantage.

With the Gunners two goals to the good at the break, they are on course to extend their lead at the top back to seven points before Manchester City play Tottenham on Sunday.
