PSG vs Nice: Lineups, team news, confirmed starting teams in Ligue 1

Paris Saint-Germain can move four points clear at the top of Ligue 1 when eighth-placed Nice visit the Parc des Princes on Saturday.

The reigning champions dropped points for the fourth time in their last six league matches on Wednesday, drawing 1-1 at 16th-placed Lorient.

Nice beat Lille 2-0 at home on the same day to extend their winning league run to three matches as part of a five-game unbeaten stretch in the top flight, affording the Eaglets the chance to rise to third with victory.

Desire Doue suffered his second injury of the season when the PSG winger was stretchered off in the 60th minute at Lorient.

“We are trying to get all our players back, so it’s a shame,” said manager Luis Enrique. “Everyone does their job, but injuries are part of a player’s life.”

Nice have won on their last two visits to PSG in the league, although their victory on April 25 arrived after their opponents had won the title.

“We’re not used to these kinds of result in our stadium,” reflected Luis Enrique. “It will clearly be a motivation for the match.

“At the same time, it will be very difficult because they’ve changed their momentum and they’re in very good form. They have quality.”

Youssouf Ndayishimiye scored one of Nice’s goals in that win at PSG last season, but the defender or midfielder is missing for the visitors alongside two centre-backs: Egypt international Mohamed Abdelmonem and Canada’s Moise Bombito.

Forward Terem Moffi has two league goals and one in the Europa League but the 26-year-old has missed Nice’s last five matches with a calf injury.

Jonathan Clauss scored twice in the 2-1 win at Rennes at October 26 before asking to be substituted, with manager Franck Haise appearing to dismiss the striker’s suggestion that he has a knee injury.

Clauss, who is in the final year of his contract, missed the win against Lille and is thought to be unsettled after a move to Leverkusen fell through before the start of the season.

“We have a lot of absentees,” said Haise. “There are guys who have been playing a lot and finished the game feeling exhausted.

“We’ve got a lot of little niggles because some of the players have strung together a lot of games. We’ll rotate the squad a lot, but there are positions where I can’t do that.

“We’ll need to be fresh because otherwise I’ll be putting certain players in danger. Paris are a lot stronger than us, even though they were held to a draw [against Lorient].

“I saw that they had also made quite a few changes, which they have to do, just like every team playing in Europe does.

“I know that they’ll want to get back to winning ways before they play against Bayern [at home in the Champions League on Tuesday], but we’ll go there to do what we can.

“I know how we won away to Paris last season: with a lot of energy and some luck. Without luck, you’ll never win [there], especially not 3-1. We’ll try to be organised, fight and play as well as possible.”

Left-winger Sofiane Diop scoring for the sixth time in his last five Ligue 1 appearances with a penalty to open the scoring against Lille, becoming the first Nice player to net in five successive league games since Nenad Bjeković’s six-match scoring streak between April and August 1977.

Swedish forward Isak Jansson also scored three minutes from time for the 23-year-old’s first Ligue 1 goal since signing from Rapid Vienna in July for a reported initial fee of around £6.2 million.
