Europa League round-up: Celtic held by Red Star

Kelechi Iheanacho came off the bench to score for Celtic as they started their Europa League challenge with a 1-1 draw at Red Star Belgrade.

The former Leicester and Manchester City striker smashed a shot into the roof of the net 10 minutes after coming on to put Brendan Rodgers’ side ahead in Serbia.

But former Stoke and West Ham forward Marko Arnautovic bundled in from a corner to level.

Antony scored late on as Real Betis came back to draw 2-2 with Nottingham Forest in Seville.

Forest were excellent in the first half and led through two goals from Brazil forward Igor Jesus on their return to the European stage.

But Betis were much the better side after the break and deserved a point earned when ex-Manchester United man Antony steered in at the far post.

Roma won 2-1 at Nice with Gianluca Mancini graabbing the winner. Nice’s Brazilian captain Dante became the oldest outfield player in the Europa League at age 41 years, 11 months.

In other games, Patrick Osterhage struck in the first half and Maximilian Eggestein in the second to earn a 2-1 win for Bundesliga’s Freiburg over Swiss champion Basel, while Fenerbahce were beaten 3-1 by Dinamo in Zagreb in its first game in Europe since coach Jose Mourinho left the club.

Substitute Fran Navarro scored the lone goal and Braga opened its campaign with a 1-0 win over Feyenoord.
