DEADLINE DAY LIVE BLOG: Deals as they happen after window slams shut and Isak finally joins Liverpool
Follow all the deals as the happen with our live blog
10:20pm: Bayern Munich have confirmed the loan signing of Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea.
The Blues forward managed to push a deal over the line, despite his parent club trying to cancel a deal while he was undergoing his medical in Germany over the weekend.
Bayern will have an option to buy the forward at the end of the 2025-26 campaign.
10:15pm: Newcastle have now added Yoane Wissa to their attacking line after the sale of Alexander Isak.
The Magpies have been hunting the Brentford star all summer and finally came to an agreement with the London club on a fee worth up to £55m.
Wissa released a statement over the weekend once again expressing his desire to leave, and the DR Congo international has finally got his wish.
10:10pm: Aston VIlla have unveiled Harvey Elliot as their new midfield signing.
The Villans have had a tough start to the season, but will be boosted by the arrival of the Premier League champion.
He has joined on an initial season-long loan but Villa will have an obligation to buy him for a fee of around £35m.
10:05pm: Manchester United have finally recruited a new goalkeeper in the form of Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp.
The 23-year-old has signed a five-year contract and is expected to replace Andre Onana in net for the Red Devils.
He is already a full Belgium international and United opted for him over signing Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa
10pm: Jadon Sancho has joined Aston Villa on a straight loan deal from Manchester United.
The Chelsea winger has found another stopgap move after spending last season with Chelsea.
9:35pm: Alexander Isak has finally been revealed as a new Liverpool player.
The Swedish striker had gone on strike at Newcastle, refusing to play or sign a new contract with the Magpies, and instead insisting on a move to Anfield.
And the forward has finally got his wish, joining for a British record £125million, putting an end to the transfer saga of the summer.
9:15pm: Nottingham Forest have pulled off a last-ditch deal for Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko.
The Tricky Trees had looked set to recruit Atletico Madrid full-back Javi Galan, but that move fell through.
Instead, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have pivoted to Zinchenko on a straight loan from the Spanish side.
8:15pm: Tottenham have brought in PSG’s Randal Kolo Muani on a season-long loan deal.
Spurs had been in the market for a new attacker and settled for the man they chased in January and who rejected them for Juventus.
There is no option or obligation to make the deal permanent.
8pm: Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen.
The defender is joining a side expecting to compete for the Premier League title this season, with Arsenal paying over £50million for the Ecuador international.
8pm: Liverpool’s move for Marc Guehi has collapsed.
The Crystal Palace defender was ready and waiting to head to Merseyside on a deadline day deal, but will now stay put after Oliver Glasner shut down the move.
It’s also a huge blow for Liverpool after losing Ibrahima Konate to injury on Sunday.
7:20pm: Liverpool have submitted a deal sheet to extend the time they have to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
Reports suggest talks are ongoing between the club and the player, but there is no word yet on whether he will head to Anfield.
7:10pm: Antony has rejoined Real Betis from Manchester United, but this time on a permanent deal.
The winger’s saga had been dragging on all summer long after Ruben Amorim made it clear he did not want to reintegrate him into the Red Devils squad, and it is reported that he has had to take a pay cut to join the Spanish side.
He has signed a contract until 2030 and will be looking to continue his form that earned him the love of the Betis fans last season.
7pm: TRANSFER WINDOW CLOSED. The window may be shut, but there are still plenty of deals set to be finalised by the end of the night, so stay tuned!
6:45pm: Rasmus Hojlund has officially joined Napoli from Manchester United.
The Danish striker was forced out of club after they opted to bring in Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha this summer, with the young striker moving back to Serie A and linking up with Antonio Conte.
The Italian champions have taken the forward on an initial loan, with an option to buy included in the deal for around €44million next summer.
4:50pm: Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan could leave the Etihad for Galatasaray.
The 34-year-old, who is of Turkish descent, is of interest to the Super Lig champions and City won’t stand in his way if he opts to leave.
The window in Turkey does not close until September 12 so this is not a deal that has to be completed today.
4:45pm: Reports are emerging suggesting Liverpool’s move for Marc Guehi may have hit a snag.
Palace were hoping to replace Guehi with Igor Tudor from Brighton but West Ham are now looking to hijack that deal.
If Tudor does move to east rather than south London, will that impact Palace’s willingness to sell Guehi?
4pm: Three hours to go!!!
One name we haven’t mentioned as yet today is Piero Hincapie.
The Bayer Leverkusen defender is reported to be finalising his move to Arsenal this afternoon and will be announced later today.
3:55pm: Sky Sports News are reporting Leeds are exploring a deal for Fulham winger Harry Wilson while Crystal Palace hold an interest in Tottenham’s Manor Solomon.
Guehi, 25, is believed to have told Palace he wants to move to Anfield and has just 12 months left to run on his current deal.
The England international will cost Liverpoool £35m plus a 10% sell-on clause and will conduct his medical in London this afternoon.
Liverpool are now expected to sign both Alexander Isak and Guehi before the window closes at 7pm.
3:20pm: Wolves have made a major deadline-day breakthrough, snapping up striker Tolu Arokodare from Genk for £23.4m.
The Nigeria international has signed a four-year deal at Molineux with the club holding the option for a fifth.
The 24-year-old joins Wolves fresh from claiming the Belgian Pro League Golden Boot last term, having struck 21 times in the league and on 23 occasions in all competitions.
3:15pm: Talking of Chelsea…
Another new face has joined with the Blues agreeing a season-long loan deal for Brighton’s Facundo Buonanotte.
“I’m very happy to join Chelsea,” said the twice-capped Argentina international. “It’s a great opportunity for me and I’m just looking to add as much to the squad as possible, help the team and help the staff.”
Buonanotte spent last season on loan at Leicester.
3pm: The ins and outs at Chelsea show no sign of slowing down as we approach the closing of the window.
Even though Nicolas Jackson could leave, Chelsea are willing to sell Tyrique George to West London rivals Fulham. A deal worth an initial £22m has been agreed for the 19-year-old, who will sign a five-year deal at Craven Cottage.
2:20pm: A couple of lines coming out of Spain.
Real Betis are expected to complete a deal to sign Manchester United winger Antony later today. The clubs have agreed a €22m fee for the Brazilian, who will take a hefty pay cut to rejoin Betis with whom he enjoyed a successful loan spell last season.
Betis’ cross-town rivals Sevilla are looking to sign veteran forward Alexis Sanchez.
Sanchez, who is now 36, has been told can leave Udinese.
1:55pm: Alexander Isak might not be the only striker leaving Newcastle on deadline day. William Osula is on the verge of a £30million move to Eintracht Frankfurt, per Craig Hope of The Daily Mail.
The deal would reportedly include a buy-back clause. Osula scored in Newcastle’s 3-2 loss to Liverpool as a substitute, but has struggled for game time and failed to impress in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Leeds United.
1:45pm: It could be one in and two out at Manchester City today as Pep Guardiola continues his squad overhaul.
As mentioned earlier, Gianluigi Donnarumma is having a medical in Italy this afternoon ahead of a move from Paris Saint-Germain.
Heading out could be Ederson, in talks with Fenerbahce, while Manuel Akanji is on the radar of Inter Milan.
The experienced Swiss international could be allowed to leave for San Siro with the clubs discussing a loan move with a €15m buy option. Akanji is reportedly keen to join the Nerazzurri.
1:20pm: A confirmed signing at Aston Villa as Victor Lindelof arrives at Villa Park on a free transfer. The Sweden defender left Manchester United at the end of the last season but now adds to Unai Emery’s options at the back.
1:15pm: Tottenham are set to add to their already considerable attacking talent with the loan signing of Randal Kolo Muani, per multiple reports.
The France international had wanted to join Juventus after a successful spell on loan from PSG last season. However, that move broke down and Spurs have swooped in, acquiring Kolo Muani on a temporary deal that reportedly does not including any options or obligations to buy.
12:50pm: As they prepare to confirm the British record signing of Alexander Isak, it appears there will be at least one outgoing at Liverpool on deadline day. The Reds are reportedly willing to sanction a loan move to Aston Villa for attacking midfielder Harvey Elliott, according to David Ornstein.
Talks between the two sides are said to be progressing, though the Reds will only allow the move once the Isak signing is confirmed and are said to be seeking an obligation to buy clause of at least £35million in the deal.
12.30pm: In terms of other deals that could happen, we are still waiting for a significant update on Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi’s situation. The England defender is on Liverpool’s radar but the clubs have yet to agree on a fee.
Perhaps wary of Guehi leaving, Palace are reportedly talking to arch-rivals Brighton over a loan move for Igor Julio.
Tottenham have had a mixed transfer window but they are hoping to end it on a high by signing striker Randal Kolo Muani from PSG. Talks are ongoing.
12.20pm: There are a host of other deals bubbling under as we enter the final seven hours of the window.
Arsenal midfielder Reiss Nelson is on the brink of joining Brentford on loan, while Sunderland’s busy summer looks set to continue with Ajax striker Brian Brobbey and RB Leipzig defender Lutsharel Geertruida both in talks over a move to Wearside.
12pm: Manchester United have edged closer to capturing Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Sene Lammens, according to David Ornstein. The clubs have agreed a deal worth €21m + add-ons for the 23-year-old Belgium international. Does that mean United are no longer in for Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez?
