Preview for Flamengo v Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich will hope to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup when they take on Flamengo tomorrow.
Vincent Kompany’s men finished second in Group C following a defeat to Benfica last time out and will meet the Brazilians rather than Chelsea in the round of 16.
And while European teams are generally regarded as stronger than their South American counterparts, the same cannot be said for Flamengo.
Filipe Luis’ side topped Group D and have lost just one of their last 18 games in league and cup.
The former Chelsea and Atletico Madrid full-back is making a splash after being promoted to coach of the first team in September last year.
He has implemented a high press, high energy gameplan which has reaped rewards.

Bayern play in a similar way but with the game kicking off at 4pm local time in the blazing heat of Miami, it will be a challenge for the Germans to match their Brazilian opposition physically.
“Brazilian teams represent a great blend of individual and collective qualities,” Kompany told ESPN. “They may have some tactical gaps, but they are incredibly creative and can always find unconventional solutions on the pitch. We knew from the start that we would face a group with Flamengo and Chelsea in the playoffs. Frankly, I don’t see a significant difference in the level of these teams; for us, nothing changes – it doesn’t matter who we play against; what’s important is to play our usual football.”
The defeat to Benfica was Bayern’s first since April and Luis Filipe accepts it is a tough assignment for the Serie A leaders.
“Bayern is a colossus, a European giant,” he said. “Absolutely dominant team in its games, in its national championship, and with an extraordinary squad. “It’s just that in one game anything can happen. They will try to play their game and impose their rhythm and we will certainly have our chance to do the same thing, and in the end may the best one win.”

Kompany rotated for the Benfica game but will revert to a first-choice XI against Flamengo. Harry Kane, Joshua Kimmich and Michael Olise will all return while Leroy Sane could make his final appearance for the club before joining Galatasaray.
Filipe Luis also left out key players for the final group game – a 1-1 draw with LAFC – and Gerson, Erick Pulgar and Jorginho should all come back into the side.

Prediction for Flamengo v Bayern Munich
This could be very tight with two good sides playing similar systems.
On paper, Bayern have the stronger line-up but the conditions could be a leveller with the Brazilians more accustomed to the heat.
We think Bayern will just edge it, though not by much.
Prediction: Flamengo 1-2 Bayern Munich
