Barcelona reclaimed their seven-point cushion at the top of LaLiga with a narrow but fully deserved 1-0 win over Mallorca at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.
Despite the slender margin, the match was a display of total dominance from Hansi Flick’s men, who peppered the Mallorca goal with 40 shots and controlled 78% possession.
The breakthrough came just 41 seconds into the second half. Dani Olmo found space inside the box and coolly swept home a low finish into the far corner after being picked out by Eric Garcia.
It was no less than Barca deserved after an overwhelming first-half display, during which they registered 24 shots and an xG of 1.94, but somehow went into the break goalless.
Mallorca had a brief moment of hope when Morey found the net on a counter-attack just before half-time, but the goal was correctly ruled out for offside.
That moment aside, Javier Aguirre’s side were largely pinned back, with few opportunities to break out and threaten Wojciech Szczesny’s goal.
Despite their dominance, Barcelona were left frustrated in front of goal. Roman, Mallorca’s goalkeeper, delivered a heroic performance with a string of saves, denying efforts from Olmo, Pau Víctor, Fermin, and a golden chance for Yamal in the closing stages.

The woodwork also came to Mallorca’s rescue, with Gavi’s deflected strike crashing off the post.
Barca introduced fresh legs throughout the second half, including Raphinha, Pau Víctor, and Frenkie de Jong, but a second goal remained elusive.
Mallorca pushed late on with a flurry of substitutions and a couple of set-piece threats, but they couldn’t carve out a clear opportunity to snatch a point.
