Bryce’s latest impressive display came less than a week after his father shared a post on Instagram, where the 40-year-old has more than 159 million followers, showing him watching Bryce play.
In a good week even by the family’s stratospheric athletic standards, James finished his story on the social media platform with a highlights-style clip of eldest son Bronny James playing for the Lakers on Thursday.
The 20-year-old also posted a career high, scoring five points after coming on in the fourth quarter against the Washington Wizards.
Bronny James ‘has just begun’
Alongside the footage of the NBA newcomer, four-time NBA champion James said: “The movie has just begun.”
Bronny added two rebounds, two assists and a steal, entering the game after James had made way during the third quarter.
Forward James contributed 24 points and 11 assists to help the Lakers prevail 134-96 for their fifth win in six games across eight days.
LA Lakers: NBA prospect Bronny ‘growing’
“He has handled everything with dignity, grace, class, all that stuff,” Lakers coach JJ Redick said afterwards, observing that Bronny James “has had eyeballs on him his whole life”. “He’ll continue to grow.”
The Lakers signed Bronny, who has more than eight million Instagram followers, in June as a second-round draft pick from the University of Southern California.
They are next in action when they attempt to end the New York Knicks’ five-game winning streak on Sunday (8.30pm ET).
