In 2020/21, Fernandes scored 28 goals and assisted 17 in all competitions for Manchester United.

Ronaldo then signed in the summer of 2021 and Fernandes’ goal contributions dropped to 10 goals and 14 assists in all competitions for that season.

However, Ronaldo has now left Manchester United and is a free agent.

As a result, former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra now believes Fernandes is the main man at United:

“Bruno Fernandes has to be the main man and you can feel it now Ronaldo is not here anymore and you can feel that he is the boss again,” Evra told Amazon Prime Video after United’s win over Forest. “He is the one taking the free-kicks, the one taking the corner kicks and I am sorry, that is what Bruno Fernandes needs.”

The Manchester United legend went on to reveal that he asked Fernandes if he felt Ronaldo inhibited him earlier in the season, but he refused to give a definitive answer.
