Wimbledon 2025 ladies final: Swiatek crowned champion after beating Anisimova without dropping a game

Iga Swiatek has been crowned Wimbledon champion for the first time with a dominant victory over Amanda Anisimova.

Former world No1 Swiatek collected her sixth Grand Slam title against the 13th seed in a 6-0, 6-0 victory in just 57 minutes.

The Pole dropped just nine points in a first set which lasted only 25 minutes in a dominant display over Anisimova, who will be bitterly disappointed with her performance in her first ever Grand Slam final appearance.

Things did not get much better for the American in the second, who looked visibly upset as she failed to halt Swiatek’s surge towards the title at the All England Club.

Known for her dominance on clay and hard courts, Swiatek showed no signs of slowing down on grass.

Anisimova came out tight and never found her rhythm. The American won only nine points in a lopsided first set, undone by a string of early errors.

The Centre Court crowd rallied behind Anisimova, but the support couldn’t turn the tide. The 13th seed racked up 28 unforced errors and five double faults in a tough two-set loss.

Holding back tears in her post-match interview, Anisimova reflected: “It’s been an incredible fortnight for me, even though I ran out of gas.

“I wish I could’ve delivered a better performance for you all today.”
