Gameweek 378: Challenger Europe players to watch

The Champions League final between Manchester City and Inter Milan is the standout game in Sorare’s Gameweek 378 in Challenger Europe, as the European football season draws to a close.

Pep Guardiola’s side are chasing an historic treble on Saturday against the Italian giants, while there is one Superliga game, one Eredivisie match, eight Eliteserien fixtures and one in the Austrian Bundesliga.

101 Great Goals has looked at the data to see which players you should consider picking for the week ahead in your Sorare Challenger Europe team, analysing the most in-form players from each game judging by their last five average scores to offer the best points-scoring potential for Gameweek 378.

Superliga

Viborg vs Midtjylland

There is not much choice for this game, with Clint Leemans the only player available to pick from Viborg. The midfielder has done well in recent matches however, and is a consistent scorer with the occasional high score. Overall, his L5 of 53 and L15 shows he is a reliable player and having played 100% of those matches even going through the L40, he is a guaranteed starter.

Gustav Isaksen has been the top scorer for Midtjylland with an impressive five in his L5 and 11 in his L15. He would be a very good pick with an L5 score of 77 and is bang in form, but even more impressive has been Kristoffer Olsson who has an L5 of 83 with four assists and two goals in his last three games.

Champions League

Manchester City vs Inter Milan

Ilkay Gundogan has been in great form at the end of the season. He scored twice in the FA Cup final against Manchester United and is clearly a player who enjoys the big occasion. In his last five matches for City - he was rotated out of the side once the Premier League was secured - he scored 100, 69, 92, 68 and 49 and has an L5 of 69. He will be someone Pep Guardiola relies on a lot, but keep an eye out for Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva too.

There are no players available from Inter Milan from this season, but one player who could have a big game against one of his former clubs is Edin Dzeko. The Bosnian striker has 17 goals this season including the opener in the semi-final. His experience and dovetailing with Lautaro Martinez could be something that unsettles Manchester City.

Eredivisie

FC Twente vs Sparta Rotterdam

Twente ran out convincing winners against Heerenveen last week, and a lot of that was down to the brilliance of Vaclav Cerny. The winger has 11 assists and 13 goals to his name so far this season, with two of the assists come in the last gameweek. He has the most goal involvements in the L15 and has a brilliant average L5 score of 83.

Tobias Lauritsen has been the main man in recent weeks for Sparta Rotterdam, with two goals and two assists in his last five matches. With an L5 of 61 he is the main man for the visitors with the best score in recent weeks and will be the man they turn to on the day.

Eliteserien

Valerenga Fotball vs Stromsgodset

There aren’t many players to choose from when it comes to Valerenga, but Henrik Bjordal has been their best scorer in recent weeks. With three goals and two assists in his nine games so far, he has hit the ground running and is already set to surpass last season’s total for goal involvements, while an L5 average of 72 is very impressive.

There are no available players from Stromsgodset, but their most in-form player in recent weeks has been Gustav Valsvik. The defender has an L5 average of 59 and an L15 of 56, while he is also ever-present. Two goals this season already make him an attractive pick as a defender.

FK Bodo/Glimt vs Hamarkameratene Fotball

Omar Elabdellaoui is one of the few available Bodo/Glimt players available on Sorare. He is in his first season in Norway and has made just six appearances (three starts) so far and is yet to score or assist, and as a result has a fairly low L5 score of 31.

There are not many high scorers for Hamarkameratene, but the highest scorer/most consistent player is Pal Kirkevold, who has a respectable L15 of 51 which drops to 40 over his L5.

Sarpsborg 08 vs Viking

Ramon Lundqvist has been leading the line for Sarpsborg, despite not normally being considered a striker and down as a midfielder on Sorare. It has not paid off in front of goal just yet - he only has two assists to his name - but that is already an improvement on the goal returns over his last four seasons.

Viking were involved in a seven-goal thriller with Molde at the weekend. They have no players available on Sorare, but full-backs Sondre Bjorshol and Shayne Pattynama contributed assists at the weekend and are key players in attack and worth keeping an eye on.

Stabaek Fotball vs Rosenborg

Carlo Holse has been a consistently high scorer for a long time for Rosenborg. The striker is one of the highest scorers on the game, with a stunning L40 average of 62 rising up to 71 over his L5. One goal and one assist so far this season don’t indicate the level of influence he has.

Odds vs Molde

Leonard Owusu is one of the few Odd players available on Sorare who is a regular starter. The midfielder has played 80% of the last five matches and has an L5 average rating of 9.

Martin Linnes is a similar case for Molde, except he has had better returns of late for Molde. The midfielder has been playing further forward on the right as more of a wing-back, and has seen his scores improve for an L5 of 62 which included a 94 in the rout over Sandefjord.

Haugesund vs Sandefjord Fotball

Magnus Christensen is a reliable midfielder for Haugesund. The Danish deep-lying midfielder has just one assist to his name this season - he has never had more than one in an entire campaign - and an L5 of 48, and L15 of 46.

Gilbert Koomson got two assists for Sandefjord in their 4-1 win over Odd last weekend, making it his most creative season since 2018. With one goal to his name already as well though, it gives him three goal involvements which is his best since 202 and generally the stats show he is looking more threatening at his new club.

Aalesunds vs Tromso

Isaac Atanga is the top goalscorer for Aalesunds over the last five matches, netting three times. Usually lining up on the left of a front three, Atanga has made a positive impression since rejoining the league after a brief and unsuccessful stint in MLS. Three goals is his best return since 2020/21 and his goals per minute average is the best of his career.

Mai Traore isn’t a regular in the Tromso side but made a positive impact off the bench in their win over Sarpsbourg. He was only on the pitch for 20 minutes but contributed a goal and an assist in the 2-1 victory.

SK Brann vs Lillestrom

Akor Adams hit three goals for Lillestrom in their comprehensive victory over Stabaek. The 23-year-old isn’t available on Sorare but keep an eye out, because he has 10 in nine games this season and a brilliant average of 65 over his L5.

Austrian Bundesliga

Austria Wien vs Austria Lustenau

Dominik Fitz missed Austria Wien’s last game - a draw with Salzburg - but he had been in brilliant form before that. He has an L5 of 67 and an L15 of 61, including a perfect score of 100 against Rapid Wien. He has seven goals and 10 assists so far this season - by far his most effective campaign.

Lukas Fridrikas has seen his popularity increase sharply in recent weeks, after a fine run of form. An L5 of 65 is ruined only by one score under 60 in his last nine matches, which include five goals in his last five. Thirteen goals and six assists all campaign mark him out as a prolific forward.
