‘You’ll struggle to see a worse player’ Liverpool fans slam one player in disappointing first half against Rangers

The Red are level at half time at Ibrox

Liverpool fans have taken to social media in their droves to slam one man in particular following a torrid first half at Ibrox in the Champions League.

The Reds headed north of the border knowing that a win would mean they needed just a point from their final two games to qualify after Napoli dispatched Ajax earlier in the evening.

But, they came out of the traps incredibly slowly, and fell behind early on as Scott Arfield found the bottom corner from the edge of the area after some great work to win the ball back high up the pitch by his teammates.

Liverpool could have found themselves two goals down soon after as a misplaced backpass nearly allowed Ryan Kent to steal in, but as has become a regular occurrence this season, Roberto Firmino provided the moment of quality needed for the Reds to get back on level terms.

An inswinging corner from Kostas Tsimikas was met by the Brazilian, who had outmuscled James Tavernier at the near post to register his seventh goal of the season, and it was Jurgen Klopp’s side that continued to grow into the occasion.

But heading into the break level, Reds fans were quick to point the finger at one man in particular in the form of Joe Gomez, as can be seen below.
