Arsenal played host to Leicester in a 3 pm kick-off on August 14th, looking to build on their opening weekend victory over Crystal Palace.
And, thanks to a starring display from Gabriel Jesus, Arsenal came away with a 4-2 victory, with the Brazilian having a hand in every goal.
For Leicester, meanwhile, James Maddison scored in the 74th minute and William Saliba turned the ball into his own net.
After scoring an own goal, Saliba, somewhat surprisingly, received very little abuse from the Arsenal fans.
Many even began to cheer the defender whilst in the stadium vs Leicester.
And now, Granit Xhaka has backed Saliba to bounce back from the mistake and urged people to focus on the rest of the centre-back’s display vs Leicester:
“You can see how…he looks like he is 30. He has discipline and big character. He is not so loud, but he is a proper leader in my eyes.
“You can see he is amazing. He has a lot of quality and yeah, we forget the own goal because for 90 minutes he had a great, great game.”
