World Boxing Champion Tyson Fury agrees League 1 sponsorship deal

His “Gypsy King” tag line will adorn the shorts of the third tier side.

World Boxing Champion Tyson Fury has agreed a sponsorship deal with local League One side Morecambe for his “Gypsy King” brand to sponsor their home and away shorts for the coming season.

Fury, a Morecambe resident, told the media that ‘it is a pleasure to be able to support my local club’, as his clothing brand will be on show to the 6476 capacity Mazuma Stadium.

“Morecambe FC is proud to announce a commercial deal which will see the two-time Heavyweight Champion of the World Tyson Fury sponsor the home and away playing shorts for the 2022/23 Sky Bet League One season”, the club wrote on their official website.

“The initial deal will see Tyson’s Gypsy King brand featuring on this season’s playing shorts, with a further announcement to be made at a later date, that will see the Gypsy King extend his partnership with the Club.”

“We have a great relationship with Tyson and are proud to wear his Gypsy King brand on the first-team shorts for the forthcoming campaign”, they added.

“Tyson is a fantastic ambassador for the Morecambe area and it’s fantastic to have him onboard. Tyson is one of the most recognisable names in the world of sport, and will bring worldwide recognition Club.”

Now retired from professional boxing, 33-year-old Tyson Fury could well be pitching up to support his local side as they aim to improve on their lowly 19th-placed finish from last season in the upcoming campaign.
