Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers have set their sights firmly on not one, but two members of Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid squad ahead of the winter transfer window, according to reports.
The identity of the first will come as little surprise to supporters of the English midlands club, in the form of Matheus Cunha.
Recent weeks have seen murmurs begin to spread regarding Wolves’ interest in hitman Cunha, amid plans to reinforce Julen Lopetegui’s attacking ranks with a view to the 2nd half of the campaign.
This comes as the Brazilian international continues to struggle for game-time in Spain’s capital.
In turn, it was revealed earlier today that negotiations have now been kicked into gear between the respective boards at Molineux and the Wanda Metropolitano, over the terms of a January transfer.
As alluded to above, though, Cunha, it would appear, is not the only Atletico star to have been identified as a front-running target by the powers that be at Wolves ahead of the January window.
As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, in addition, the Premier League basement dwellers have set their sights on the services of Felipe.
Stopper Felipe is another to have endured an altogether underwhelming campaign to date, on his way to just a pair of La Liga starts.
Wolves, as a result, are eyeing a ‘package’ deal, which would see both Cunha and his fellow countryman make their way to Molineux following the turn of the year.
