Wilfried Zaha set to leave Crystal Palace on free transfer

The Ivory coast winger is out of contract this summer

Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha is prepared to leave Crystal Palace on a free transfer this summer, according to reports.

The 30-year-old Ivorian has been annually linked with a move away from Selhurst Park, most recently the subject of interest from Chelsea, but Palace have consistently stood by their price-tag for the forward, which has seen clubs look elsewhere.

However, Zaha is now into the final seven months of his contract, and though Palace are keen to keep him in south London, he has not been shy about being keen to test himself at a higher level than the Eagles can offer.

As a result, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that the Ivorian talisman leaving for free is now the ‘most likely’ option, despite Palace’s desperation to keep him at the club.

His form for the Eagles this term has been excellent, with the 30-year-old grabbing six goals and two assists in 13 outings amid what is otherwise a youthful Palace side.

And it will no doubt help to convince other clubs around the Premier League and Europe that he can be a low risk signing in the summer, with Arsenal and Chelsea both thought to still hold an interest in Zaha.

Marseille are also thought to be ready to make an offer for the Ivorian, though that will likely depend on whether they can convert their good early season form into a Champions League spot come the end of the season, with Zaha thought to be keen to play on the highest stage.
