Why Rio Ferdinand called Phil Foden a ‘disgrace’

Rio Ferdinand has been speaking about Manchester City winger, Phil Foden.

Phil Foden has taken a slight backseat for Manchester City in recent months, in part because he had to undergo surgery.

However, he has still scored 10 and assisted five in 27 as the Sky Blues march towards a 5th league title in six seasons.

Should Manchester City indeed come out on top in the Premier League this year, Phil Foden will have five Premier League titles by the age of 23, and it is this record that has caught the eye of Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand.

While talking on his FIVE YouTube channel, Ferdinand was discussing the players who could get inducted into the Premier League’s Hall of Fame in the future: “Kevin De Bruyne is the first name everyone is mentioning Arsene Wenger mentioned him last night when he was asked [about current players joining the Hall of Fame] and I agree. I think Mohamed Salah will end up in there. Erling Haaland. He can go in there after just one season!

On Foden, Ferdinand added: “Who’s a young player who I think will end up in there? Phil Foden. Did you know that Foden, potentially at the end of this season, if Man City win the Premier League… he will have five titles. He’s 23 years old! It’s a disgrace, an absolute disgrace.”
