After the weekendβs Premier League action, Manchester United have moved to within five points of Arsenal.
Granted, Arsenal do have two games in hand on Manchester United, but one of those games is against Manchester City on Wednesday, which the Gunners could easily lose.
This would hand Manchester United a boost in the title race. However, Gary Neville is under the impression that Erik ten Hag does not believe the Red Devils are in the title race:
βI genuinely donβt think they are in the Premier League title race,β he on Sunday.
βI was thinking Erik ten Hag has actually prioritised the Barcelona game this week. Heβs put Martinez and Varane on the bench and saved them for Barcelona and played Shaw and Maguire at centre-back.
βIf he thought he could win the Premier League he would obviously prioritise that so I think even heβs thinking the title is beyond them. He got away with it today and itβs worked but I just donβt think they can win the Premier League. Theyβve got so many games and I just donβt think theyβre at the level of Man City and Arsenal right now.β
