Why Ben White is missing for Arsenal vs West Ham

An explanation for Ben White missing Arsenal’s clash with West Ham on Sunday has been provided.

The Gunners are set to face off with city rivals West Ham at the London Stadium shortly.

Arsenal will kick off in east London having been knocked off 4th spot by Tottenham, who downed Leicester in one of the day’s early Premier League kick-offs.

However, Mikel Arteta’s side will once again go two points clear of their bitter rivals, if they pick up a win against the Hammers.

And West Ham have since handed Arsenal a decent chance to do so, resting a number of key players in preparation for their Europa League semi-final second leg versus Eintracht Frankfurt next week:

Arsenal, though, are also not at full strength. Thomas Partey and Kieran Tierney look set to miss the remainder of the season through injury.

And, on Sunday, it was revealed that Ben White would be missing, too, with Rob Holding instead set to partner Gabriel at the heart of Arsenal’s backline.
