Why Andy Robertson is missing for Liverpool’s meeting with Aston Villa on Tuesday has been revealed.
Liverpool head into the Villa game having been dealt a blow in their pursuit of the 2021/22 Premier League title this past weekend.
The Reds drew 1-1 with Tottenham on Saturday evening whilst Manchester City put five past Newcastle United on Sunday.
As a result, Liverpool are now three points adrift of Manchester City with just three league games left to play.
City also have a four better goal difference thanks to their dominant win over Newcastle.
As a result, Liverpool cannot afford any sort of slip up vs Villa and, if possible, need to beat Steven Gerrard’s side by a decent scoreline to help bolster their goal difference.
Aston Villa, meanwhile, are sat 11th in the Premier League with little left to play for.
Why Andy Robertson is missing
Ahead of the game, Liverpool released their matchday squad, which was fairly strong but missing a few key players.
Mohamed Salah only made the bench, whilst Andy Robertson was not in the squad at all:
