‘Who needs Casemiro?’ - Real Madrid fans single one player out for special praise after Celta downing

A summer arrival in the Spanish capital was in fine form this evening

The Real Madrid faithful have taken to social media in their absolute numbers on Saturday night, to single one member of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad out for widespread praise.

Los Blancos, of course, were back in action a short time ago.

Fresh off getting the defence of their La Liga crown off to a positive start at the expense of a plucky Almeria outfit on opening day, Real were faced with another tricky prospect, in the form of a trip to Celta Vigo.

In turn, upon Iago Aspas cancelling out Karim Benzema’s opener midway through the first-half, hearts were no doubt in mouths across the champions’ fanbase.

Ancelotti’s troops, though, soon showcased their mettle.

After Luka Modric put them back in front in spectacular fashion shortly before the interval, further strikes on the part of Vinicius Jr. and Federico Valverde ensured that Real, in the end, emerged on the right side of a dominant 4-1 scoreline.

On the back of the final whistle bringing a close to the action at Balaidos, though, it is not Real’s match-winning goalscorers who have since taken their place front and centre in the post-match chatter.

Instead, this honour has been reserved for another member of Carlo Ancelotti’s ranks.

The player in question? Aurelien Tchouameni.

French international Tchouameni was cast into the spotlight in a major way on Saturday night.

This comes with the big-money summer arrival at the Bernabeu afforded a start at the case of Los Merengues’ midfield, in place of Manchester United-bound Casemiro.

Safe to say, though, the youngster didn’t disappoint.

In fact, he has since been singled out for widespread commendation across social media, with just some of the Twitter highlights showcased below:
