An insight into the place of new addition Aurelien Tchouameni on the list of Real Madrid's most expensive-ever signings has been provided on Saturday.

French prodigy Tchouameni's Bernabeu switch was of course finally made official earlier today.

On the back of weeks of rampant speculation, and rival interest on the part of both Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, the transfer team in Spain's capital confirmed that they had struck a deal with their counterparts at AS Monaco, to land the midfielder on a six-year contract:

'Real Madrid C. F. and AS Monaco have reached an agreement over the transfer of Aurélien Tchouaméni, who joins the club on a six-year deal.

Tchouaméni will be unveiled on Tuesday 14 June at Real Madrid City at 12:00 (CET) following his medical.'

Despite his relative inexperience at the top level, Tchouameni, it is understood, has set Real Madrid back an initial fee in the region of 80 or so million euros, up to a potential 100 million including bonuses.

So, where does this €80 million+ place the 22-year-old on the illustrious list of Los Blancos' most costly ever additions?

Well, an insight into precisely that has been provided on Saturday evening.

If the fees surrounding the transfer to have been pushed in the media are indeed accurate, then Tchouameni represents the 4th most expensive arrival in the history of European football's most successful club.

The French international sits behind only record signing Eden Hazard, and iconic wide pair Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo.
