What Richarlison did to make Hojbjerg laugh during Tottenham’s draw with Everton

What Richarlison did to make Hojbjerg laugh during Tottenham’s draw with Everton

Tottenham held at Everton

There has been little to no new manager bounce for Tottenham since Antonio Conte’s arrival last week.

The Italian’s first game in charge saw a basically full-strength side scrap out a 3-2 win over Vitesse, a result Tottenham likely could have managed under Nuno Espirito Santo in their previous game had he played a full-strength team.

Then, on Sunday, Conte took charge of his first Premier League tie for the Lilywhites. And many of the same issues that have plagued Spurs all season continued vs Everton.

Mainly their lack of goals, with the score finishing 0-0 and Spurs not managing a single shot on target.

After the game, Conte explained he was happy, but that Tottenham can improve in a lot of situations:

“Honestly, I have to be happy for different reasons and the first that Goodison Park is not an easy place to come to play against Everton, especially when you had a week very intensive, I am talking emotionally for my players, not for the club.

“After we play the game Thursday and I have to be happy because I started to see some tactical situations for sure we can improve and we have a lot of space for improvement. In different situations, tactically, physically but also the mentality.”

Why Richarlison made Hojbjerg laugh

Now, after the game, has explained why Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was laughing at Richarlison during the clash.

As per FL, Richarlison and Cristian Romero were involved in an altercation on the edge of the penalty area and though the Spurs man did appear to move his head towards the Brazilian when they were involved in a heated debate, there was little if any contact – hence why Romero was not sent off.

Despite this, it still saw Richarlison clutch his face and go to ground, which in turn caused Hojbjerg, who was standing alongside Romero and Emerson by Richarlison, to laugh as soon as he saw the Brazilian star going to the floor.
