Chelsea have warned Mykhaylo Mudryk that he is spending too much in the gym as he looks to kickstart his Blues career, it has been reported.
The Ukrainian winger arrived in January after the west London side snatched his signature from the jaws of Arsenal, agreeing to pay a fee which could rise to £88m with add ons included.
He has not enjoyed a great start to life at Stamford Bridge though, in part thanks to the massive change going on around him which has seen three managers come and go in six months, and almost a whole squad of players change.
Despite this, his numbers make for grim reading, with two assists to his name and no goals across 813 minutes of Blues action.
Now, it has been reported that one of the concerns Chelsea have around the 22-year-old is his love of being in the gym.

As per the Athletic, “some believe he [Mudryk] is in the gym too much, even visiting ones away from the club” and as a result that “Chelsea have actually told him to tone the gym work down a little due to concerns he is overdoing it.”
They continue that ‘He loves doing extra sessions in the gym, perhaps too much’ and that “He will do what Chelsea ask him to do training-wise, but will always find the time for extra gym work” because “Mudryk sees it as helping his stamina and physical readiness.”
It hasn’t worked yet. He still has a long way to go to prove the doubters wrong, with ‘at least one Premier League club’ seeing Mudryk as ‘heavily overpriced according to their data model’, but in a more settled side he should at least get the chance to do so.
