‘We should be paid to watch him’: Manchester United star singled out for criticism vs Newcastle

Manchester United and Newcastle are currently locked in Premier League action at St James’ Park.

Manchester United headed into the match 3rd in the Premier League with 26 games played.

Tottenham are two points off them in 4th, but have played two more games than the Red Devils already.

As for Newcastle, their winning run ended early in 2023 and they have drawn too many games, meaning they have slipped out of the top-four.

However, the Magpies are just three points off Manchester United with the same games played and two points off Tottenham with two fewer matches played.

As a result, Newcastle would move into the top four with a win over the Manchester outfit.

At the time of writing, the score remains deadlocked at 0-0.

Newcastle started the better of the two sides, with Lisandro Martinez blocking a Sean Longstaff effort that was goal-bound five minutes in.

David de Gea then made a good double save 10 minutes later to keep out Alexsandr Isak and Joe Willock.

As for Manchester United, their attack has been almost non-existent. And during the match, Manchester United fans have taken to social media to pin the blame on one man.

That player is Wout Weghorst, who is currently on loan at United from Burnley. Just some of the reaction to the Dutchman’s display can be seen below:
