Watch: The moment Mikel Arteta introduced Declan Rice to Arsenal’s squad


Footage of the moment Declan Rice was introduced to his new Arsenal teammates by head coach Mikel Arteta has come to the fore on Saturday evening.

The name of midfielder Rice has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines on the red half of north London across the day to date.

This comes after Arsenal’s long-running pursuit of the England international, at long last, was brought to a successful conclusion.

As per an official statement across the Gunners’ website and social media platforms

‘England international Declan Rice has joined us from West Ham United on a long-term contract,’ in a deal understood to be worth a club record £105 million.

Rice, in turn, has since gone on to become acquainted with his new surrounding in England’s capital, ahead of what all associated with Arsenal will be hoping proves a long and trophy-laden stint at The Emirates.

And, as alluded to above, amid such endeavours, on Saturday, the 24-year-old was publicly introduced to Mikel Arteta’s squad for the first time.

As part of a first-team meeting, the Gunners’ boss welcomed Rice to ‘the family’ at Arsenal, before opening the floor for his latest signing to address his new teammates.

From here, Rice made use of the opportunity to express his excitement at sharing the pitch with those around him, before also confirming his intention to help bring silverware back to north London.
