Footage stemming from the Scottish Cup clash between Rangers and Partick Thistle has piqued widespread attentions across social media late on Sunday.

This comes owing to the bizarre equaliser netted by the latter late in proceedings in Glasgow.

For those not aware, a pulsating affair played out at Ibrox earlier today, ultimately culminating in heavyweights Rangers booking their spot in the competition’s quarter-finals.

This came as goals on the part of all of Antonio Colak, Malik Tillman and James Sands guided Rangers to the right side of a 3-2 scoreline.

As alluded to above, however, the Gers’ eventual triumph did not come without its controversies along the way.

Instead, with a little under 20 minutes remaining in Sunday’s clash, Michael Beale’s men were involved in one of the headline moments of the weekend.

Upon Kevin Holt taking control from a throw-in, and preparing to lob the ball back towards the other end, however, Malik Tillman nipped in, stealing back possession, before dancing his way to a go-ahead goal for the day’s hosts.

The actions of the United States international sparked understandable fury on the part of Thistle’s stars, who immediately surrounded Tillman, flooring the attacker amid ugly scenes.

Once the fracas had subdued, discussions between the officials in attendance, and two managers on the touchline, in turn, were kicked into gear.

And, in the end, it was decided by Rangers boss Beale that the only just course of action would be to allow the visitors a clear path to goal, to draw level at two goals apiece.

Scott Tiffoney subsequently took responsibility, bagging Thistle’s equaliser, before James Sands decided the tie in Rangers’ favour a little over ten minutes later.
