On-loan Arsenal talent Folarin Balogun has continued to pique attentions across the club’s fanbase on Sunday, owing to his head-turning exploits in front of goal.
Hitman Balogun, of course, secured a fresh departure from the Emirates during the summer transfer window.
Despite a largely productive loan spell in the Championship with Middlesbrough over the 2nd half of last season, Mikel Arteta and co. evidently came to the conclusion that the England youth international was not yet ready to contribute on a weekly basis back in north London.
Balogun, in turn, was farmed out once more, on this occasion linking up with Ligue 1 outfit Stade de Reims.
And what a stint he has since gone on to enjoy in France.
After bagging 11 goals across just shy of 1400 minutes of action before tonight, the 21-year-old went on to add to his tally once more a short time ago .
Afforded another start in Reims’ Ligue 1 showdown with star-studded Paris Saint-Germain, Balogun produced the game’s telling moment late on.
With a full five minutes of injury time on the clock, and hosts PSG in possession of a slender one-goal advantage, Balogun was set free on goal by by Moussa Doumbia.
And the Arsenal prodigy went on to showcase all of his goalscoring talents with his ensuing finish, rounding Gianluigi Donnarumma before lashing home to secure a shock share of the spoils for Reims:
Balogun, in turn, further extended his advantage as the top scoring U21 player across Europe’s top five leagues.
