Tyrell Malacia drops massive transfer hint about first Manchester United signing

The United defender could have just let the cat out of the bag

Some Manchester United fans believe that defender Tyrell Malacia may have just dropped a massive hint about United’s first summer signing via one of his Instagram stories.

The Red Devils are expected to be very busy this summer, with Erik ten Hag desperate to reshape his side and provide more depth for his first XI, with a hectic schedule having seen Marcus Rashford limp off injured against Everton.

Malacia was one such signing, arriving from Feyenoord in the summer to provide cover for Luke Shaw, and the Dutchman has proved excellent value for money, with the 23-year-old having made 17 top flight appearances to date.

Now, some believe that he has hinted at another savvy addition.

The player in question? Midfield star Okcan Kokcu, who Malacia played with during his time at Feyenoord and who the Red Devils reportedly sent scouts to watch in action over the weekend.

Taking to Instagram following Feyenoord’s 5-1 win over RKC Waalwijk, a result which took them eight points clear atop the Eredivisie, the Dutchman posted a of his former captain Kokcu, along with the caption ‘almost’.

Kokcu is believed to be one of several midfield options that United are considering this summer, with the likes of Moises Caicedo, Declan Rice, Alexis Mac Allister and Frenkie de Jong also all on their wishlist.

The Turkish midfield general would cost significantly less than the others mentioned, however, and with United looking to go big for a striker as their no.1 priority this summer, a cheaper option could be the way forward in the centre of the park.
