Tottenham have completed the loan signing of Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich, subject to international clearance and a work permit.
The French forward will spend the remainder of the campaign at Spurs, with the option to buy the youngster permanently in the summer.
Spurs’ move for the 19-year-old looked to have fallen through after the player reportedly rejected the club but a chat with manager Ange Postecoglou revived the transfer on deadline day.
Tel will wear the No11 shirt for his new club and could make his debut against Liverpool in their Carabao Cup semi-final second leg on Thursday.
The young forward was also in talks with Premier League rivals Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.
Tel was expected to leave Bayern during the January transfer window after falling out of favour with the Bundesliga giants.
He has started just twice in the Bundesliga this season and has failed to find the net, with just a single assist to his name.
Overall, he has made 83 appearances for the Bavarian club, scoring 16 goals.
