Revealed: What Joan Laporta told Bernardo Silva’s agent about Barcelona making a move

FC Barcelona are preparing a move for Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva.

FC Barcelona have stunned everyone with this summer with their transfer window.

The Catalan club have managed to sign Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Jules Koundé, Franck Kessié, Andreas Christensen and re-signed Ousmane Dembélé.

But, incredibly, Barça are not done just yet, with Bernardo Silva still in their sights.

Laporta tells Bernardo’s agent Barcelona will make a move

According to COPE, Joan Laporta has informed Bernardo Silva’s agent that Barcelona will make an attempt to sign the midfielder.

The 27-year-old remains a big goal this summer for Barça and they are still going after him.

City could be open to letting him leave and have started looking at alternatives, such as Lucas Paquetá.

Frenkie de Jong’s future could play a big part in a deal, however.

The Spanish giants will likely need to move him on before being able to advance a move for Silva.

But this could tricky, with Manchester United seemingly having moved on from wanting to sign him.

Chelsea are reportedly interested, however, it is unclear just how intent they are on doing a deal.

Laporta spoke about de Jong’s situation on Friday.

He said: “Frenkie is Barca player.

“We want him to stay, he wants to stay.

“We’ve received important bids for him but he’s our player.

“You know the salary budget situation; so we will do our best to keep Frenkie at Barca and I hope he’ll do the same.”
