Revealed: Striker keen on Manchester United transfer this January

Manchester United are in the market for a striker this month.

After months of upheaval, Cristiano Ronaldo was released from his Manchester United contract in November.

This leaves Manchester United with just one natural striker for the rest of the campaign, making a January move likely.

Of course, both Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford can play through the middle, but neither play is that clinical in front of goal.

So, Manchester United fans are no doubt hoping to see a new no.9 through the door this winter.

And their wish could come true in the very near future.

It was reported on Sunday that Wout Weghorst is close to agreeing a loan move to Manchester United in the January transfer window.

“Wout Weghorst is one of many players offered to Man United as smart, cheap option for January window,” Romano said.

“Ten Hag appreciates Weghorst and so they are now exploring conditions of the deal with Besiktas and Burnley also involved in this story because of the loan move agreed last summer. The player would be keen on the move.

“I think he can be a good short term option, but for sure Man Utd need an important player in that position in the summer, in my opinion.”
