Arsenal are making a strong move to bring Declan Rice across London this summer.

The Gunners have identified the 24-year-old as the perfect midfielder for Mikel Arteta.

Despite a difficult domestic campaign, Rice helped guide West Ham to their first major trophy in 43 years.

However, another club have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Rice, and it’s the treble-winning Manchester City.

Manchester City move for Rice

Manchester City are now actively exploring their own approach for Declan Rice, according to the Athletic.

With İlkay Gündoğan expected to leave, City could look to replace him with the West Ham captain.

However, Arsenal’s move is already well advanced and they have submitted their first offer for the midfielder.

It is understood that this bid has been rejected and they are set to return with an improved one.

But with Man City now in the race, a move to the Emirates now seems far from certain.
