Manchester United eye move for World Cup winning defender

Manchester United are looking to add some more experience to their backline.

If Manchester United are to challenge for the Premier League in the coming seasons, they must tighten up their backline.

Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane are solid options to have but outside of that duo, the Red Devils’ are lacking in quality.

Harry Maguire gets criticised in nearly every game he now plays for Man United, which are few and far between to begin with. The Englishman could also leave Old Trafford in the summer in search of more regular first-team football ahead of Euro 2024.

As for Victor Lindelof, he is not good enough to be playing for a side who want to challenge for the Premier League title.

So, it makes sense for United to be looking to improve at the back this summer.

The latest name touted to achieve this is Bayern Munich and France stopper, Benjamin Pavard.

Pavard can operate at both centre-back and right-back, making him an excellent option for United.

And now, Football Insider report that Bayern Munich are interested in United-linked Jeremie Frimpong. Should the German champions sign the Dutchman, Manchester United will look to sign Pavard.

No fee is mentioned in the report.
