Manchester City transfer news: €120m bid readied for January, free centre-back eyed & more

A whole host of Manchester City transfer rumours have emerged over the weekend.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Manchester City will place a bid of €120 million for AC Milan superstar Rafael Leao in the upcoming winter transfer window.

The report adds that the Portuguese will be offered a salary of €10m per season, with Chelsea also in the hunt for the Portuguese winger.

After not being productive from the flanks this season, this move could help City brush aside any doubts.

Manchester City wingers Riyad Mahrez and Jack Grealish have constantly fired blanks this season and the Citizens see the Portuguese as an upgrade. The 23-year-old has been on the wish list of some of Europe’s elites and Manchester City are the latest club to join the race.

Leao was linked with Chelsea towards the end of the 2022 summer transfer window, but no move came to pass.

The 23-year-old has since continued to impress in Milan, scoring five and assisting five in 12 Serie A ties so far this season.

Leao has also provided four assists and one goal in six Champions League games this season.

The winger is under contract at the San Siro until 2024.

Another Serie A star is also reportedly on Manchester City’s transfer list. As per 90min, Manchester City have entered the competition for the signature of Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar next summer.

Skriniar’s contract with Inter Milan expires at the end of the season, with no hints of a renewal so far. Many clubs including Manchester City are hoping to sign the highly-rated Slovakian for free and would be able to sign him to a pre-contract agreement from January.

Finally, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s agent, Christian Emile, has revealed how much Napoli will demand for the player, who has been on the radar of Manchester City according to reports:

“He’s come to Napoli, he’s been brilliant, and people are talking about €100 million. For me, if he continues to perform like this till the end of the season and next season, because there’s a zero per cent chance they sell him [in January]. He will reach €100 million for sure,” Emile explained.
