According to Futbol Total, FC Barcelona are considering making a move for Alexander-Arnold next year.
Although Liverpool are battling for almost every competition they enter at the moment, the attraction of Barcelona can often be too tempting for players and may lead to Trent, who has won everything with Liverpool, considering his future.
The pull of Barca has been seen already this summer with the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, and Raphinha, who despite the financial struggles at the Spanish club, were willing to sign for Barcelona.
Lewandowski especially is a good example of this, leaving Bayern Munich, who dominated Germany every single year and won the Champions League just two years, to join a Barcelona side who have been on a downward spiral for several years.
It would take an astronomical fee for Liverpool to even consider a sale, a figure Barcelona are probably unable to provide in the near future. But given Barcelona seem to be able to pluck money out of thin-air to some extent, perhaps Alexander-Arnold making the switch to Spain is not that unlikely.
Barcelona, of course, had one of the best attacking right-backs in world football on their books for many years in the form of Dani Alves, and it is easy to see Alexander-Arnold going on to replicate the Brazilian in Spain.
He also holds the record for most assists by a defender in a single Premier League season with 13.
