Erik ten Hag quizzed on failed Cody Gakpo move after Manchester United 3-Nottingham Forest 0

Manchester United returned to action on Tuesday evening, facing Nottingham Forest in a Premier League clash.

Manchester United dominated the newly-promoted outfit and came away with an impressive 3-0 win.

Despite losing Cristiano Ronaldo last month, Manchester United still had enough firepower to see off Forest, with both Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial getting themselves on the scoresheet.

However, United still probably need another forward or two in their ranks to leave the gap left by CR7.

One of those players looked set to be Cody Gakpo. Gakpo was linked with a move to the Premier League at the start of the season, with Manchester United leading the race.

However, it then emerged on Monday that Liverpool have agreed a six-year deal with the winger that will see PSV net a guaranteed £37m.

And now, after beating Forest, Erik ten Hag has been asked about the Gakpo transfer.

“We want to keep playing in all the competitions we are in, we want to keep going to the end of the season so you need numbers to keep competing.”
