Erik ten Hag drops hint over Cristiano Ronaldo replacement plan

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has been discussing the club’s plan to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.

After months of upheaval, Cristiano Ronaldo was released from his Manchester United contract in November.

This leaves Manchester United with just one natural striker for the rest of the campaign, making a January move likely.

Of course, both Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford can play through the middle, but neither play is that clinical in front of goal.

So, Manchester United fans are no doubt hoping to see a new no.9 through the door this winter.

And, speaking ahead of Manchester United’s next outing, Erik ten Hag suggested a new striker could indeed arrive at Old Trafford soon:

“Two things,” Ten Hag told reporters. “Impulse can come out of our own club, see [Alejandro] Garnacho, see [Anthony] Elanga, see [Facundo] Pellistri, who made a good impression at the World Cup and also in training. That is first.
