Details revealed as Arsenal mount one final push for deadline day midfield siging
The Gunners have not yet called time on their late-window efforts to add to Mikel Arteta’s squad
The powers that be at Premier League giants Arsenal have submitted a third and final offer for Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz, according to reports.
The name of Brazilian international Luiz, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines across the day to date.
This comes after the 24-year-old was identified as a key last-minute target on the part of Premier League rivals Arsenal.
Owing to injuries picked up by both Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny, the Gunners have set their sights firmly on fresh blood in the middle of the park ahead of the transfer deadline, with Luiz the first-choice target.
To this point, however, the efforts of Edu Gaspar to find a deal for his fellow countryman have proven to be in vain.
This comes with the powers that be at Villa Park having continued to maintain their stance that Luiz is simply not for sale.
But, as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then, with just hours remaining before the transfer window slams shut, Arsenal remain hard at work.
As per transfer expert David Ornstein, a 3rd official bid, worth a sum in the region of £25 million, has been tabled by the north London club for Luiz.
It now remains to be seen whether Villa’s stance softens as a result.
