Premier League giants Chelsea have opened negotiations over a late-window deal for an out-of-favour member of the midfield ranks at Juventus, according to reports.
The player being eyed by the Blues ahead of the fast-approaching deadline? Denis Zakaria.
Swiss international Zakaria actually only made the move to Italy with Juve this past January, but is understood to have been made available for transfer on the back of the summer arrivals of both Paul Pogba and Leandro Paredes, and emergence of teenage sensation Fabio Miretti.
Chelsea, having been left frustrated in their own efforts to add a combative option to Thomas Tuchel’s ranks in the middle of the park this summer, have therefore moved to take advantage of this situation.
As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the transfer team at Stamford Bridge are in active negotiations, over a loan deal for Zakaria.
Any such swoop, it is understood, would also feature an option to buy on the part of the capital giants.

This comes after fellow out-of-favour engine room star Arthur Melo was snapped up by Liverpool, too on loan for the coming campaign.
