According to Goal, a move to Chelsea beckons for Angelo Gabriel, with the Blues committing to spend €15 million to secure his services and add him to their burgeoning ranks of talented youngsters, following the captures of Kendry Paez, Andrey Santos and Cesare Casadei in recent times.
As Angelo is Brazilian and playing for Santos, he has been compared to club legends Neymar and Pele. However, Goal also believe the player is very similar to former Manchester United and Real Madrid man, Angel Di Maria: “Although he idolises his predecessor Neymar, Angelo is arguably most reminiscent of a young Angel Di Maria when it comes to current stars; both are left-footed and thrive on the right wing, cutting inside and seeking to wreak havoc.”
The 18-year-old has spent his short playing career on the books of Santos. During that time he has already earned a staggering 129 caps at senior level, which is outstanding for someone of such a young age.
During those games he has scored five and assisted 10 – suggesting he has some more learning to do before he is ready to play for Chelsea on a regular basis.
