Carlo Ancelotti speaks out on possibility of Real Madrid replacing Marco Asensio

The Spanish international has made clear his desire for a new challange

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has, on Saturday, provided an update on the future of transfer-linked attacker Marco Asensio.

Los Blancos, of course, are fresh off bidding a surprise farewell to a long-time central figure at the club, in the form of Casemiro.

On the back of Aurelien Tchouameni’s big-money arrival in Spain’s capital, Brazilian international Casemiro sought out a new adventure, taking his talents to the Premier League with Manchester United.

And another member of Los Blancos’ ranks could well follow suit, ahead of the fast-approaching transfer deadline.

The player in question? Marco Asensio.

Speaking to the media earlier this week, Carlo Ancelotti confirmed reports in the media that Spanish international Asensio was seeking out a departure from the European champions.

‘Asensio is looking to see if he can leave’, the Italian revealed.

During a press conference ahead of his side’s upcoming La Liga meeting with Espanyol, it therefore came as little surprise when the topic of his wantaway attacker’s future was put to Real’s boss once more.

And Ancelotti went on to reveal that, in the case of a ‘good option’ emerging for Asensio, ‘it will be evaluated’.

Significantly, the iconic tactician also went on to confirm that, in the case of a sale, the transfer team at the Bernabeu have no intention of seeking out a replacement.
